    ABS Control Module

Hey guys after recently taking my car to the mechanic and having my intermittent ABS light problem diagnosed I have been informed that my ABS Control Module needs replacing.

I was quoted about $300 to have this done. Is there an easier and cheaper way to fix this at all???

    Did you say $300?

Thats a really cheap price! I've seen ABS Module replacements run into the thousands. Where did you get the quote?

Before replacing the module, you'd want to check the 4 wheel sensors which control the ABS and EDC (traction control).

There are 2, 15-amp, fuses at the top of the fuse/relay board. Make sure that they are not blown. Also there is another fuse in the main row of fuses that is related to ABS – check that one, too.

I wonder what others paid for replacement ABS modules, and where they would have sourced them from?

Perhaps that's just the price to rebuild the control module not including labour to remove and replace it?

How did the mechanic know it was the ABS Control Module?

Did VAG-COM say the module was faulty?

Is that the labour price, plus the cost of the new module??

Be careful as there are lots of different modules and they are not compatable with each other. Get the number off the bottom of it with a mirror or a digital camera.

Most G3 ones I see dont work.

Yeah he tested it through VAG-COM, he gave me a copy of the report, I'll post it up when I get home tonight and find it

That sort of fault report could be a faulty pump?
