ya its Burwin's i work at great place!
ya its the cup kit, i think ill be gettin the kit itself for around 535 american $ pluss like...200 for shipping which is why i was gonna get it through them cos i was already gonna get some other stuff through them, like the vr lip and dbadged grill, that sorta stuff. but if i can get it here for cheaper that'd be great but ill check out that GTsuspension place too, my brother mentioned them a couple days ago
as for the pod filter legality thing, ya i got one of those but only cos i cant find the screws to put the original airbox back. im slowly acumulating screws from work that'll do them job though!
i just came home from TAFE and i was wondering to myself as i saw a VS ute scraping over a speed bump, how often do people get into trouble for being too low here? its not even funny how low some cars are at my tafe.
I scrape the underbody of my car around most humps now. Before it used to be only the lip, but I've changed back to a duckbill for now. Most scrapes are avoidable by just going over humps uber slow and taking it on diagonally. No problems doing that
$735USD shipped is ridiculously cheap! Just watch out for import taxes once you accound for the VR lip and grille though. Try and keep it under $1000AUD per shipment!
so you've got a 60/40 kit in, if not, how low are you? may sound dumb but whats the duck bill you mentioned? i gather its a lip
there are import taxes if i spend over 1000 AUD? thanks alot man, ill definately keep that in mind
There is no such thing as a dumb question, we are all here to learn. I believe Ray is referring to the small standard front lower spoiler that came out on ALL Australian-delivered Mk3's...
Sorry about the dodgy pics...
As opposed to the Euro-style front lip that came out on O/S GTI's and VR6's
Cheers

Canadian dubs coming to VWwA soon
Yep my bad. North American cars got a different stock lip so I'm just used to using the term duckbill for our stock lips.
I currently have coilovers on, but my drop is roughly at about 70/70 mm.
ahh ok i was wondering about the different lips that came out stock on cars overseas because i couldnt tell what car they were from originally. i looked at a VR6 the other day and even that had the same lip as mine and i thought it strange but that makes sense now that you say they all came with the same one. thanks!
Ray do you have any pictures of your 70/70 drop? are the coilovers very harsh? how do they compare siffnesswise to that mk5 gti? one of my mates just got one and we were talkin about how we wouldnt want pretty much any car we owned to be any stiffer than that thing. handles like a charm but almost need a kindey belt to make a long trip in it!
Compared to the previous springs, they're firmer. I'm still using the same strut though but at a harder setting to match the coil springs more closely. I've had passengers on before, and they did not like it at all hahaha... but I prefer it more this way. It's a daily driver too but it's one of the things you'd get used to.
This is the height right now:
