    2E 8v problems

    Hey guys, thought ill try my luck on the forum to try fix my issue I'm having with my MK1 which has a 2E engine in it from a MK3 GTI. The car is struggling to rev out past 3000rpm or so, I'v changed the fuel pump, spark plugs, leads, dizzy cap, hall sensor, fuel filter and nothing seems to help.

    Next I was thinking it could be the air flow meter, so I unplugged it and the car still runs the same, so I doubt its that.

    Any info will be greatly appreciated, I miss how it use to be

    Update: played around with the timing on the dizzy,its revs out close to redline now, but takes longer that usual. Its really struggles to rev out. No misfires either, idles fine.

    Might not be your issue, but I replaced my cat with a high flow (with a freer flowing sports exhaust) and it revs more freely and to redline.
