    2.0 for VR6 parts?

Hey guys thinking of buying a wrecked CL or GL (owner doesn't seem to know which one) as a parts car for my vr6.

Figured I could use bumpers for some shaving maybe have some spare window regs, interior trim etc.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the stock exhaust on it will bolt on to the vr6 as I daily it and plan on keeping this car for a while so I might grow tired of the loud exhaust / want to mix it up every now and then and if any parts of the motor might be useful as spares?

Exhaust piping is smaller on the 4 cylinders (2" vs 2.25" I believe). Hardly any mechanical parts that are the same in the engine bay, even down to the brakes/suspension.

Likewise you'd be surprised how many interior pieces are different too, I'd personally only do it if it was super cheap and the GL/CL wasn't an easy fix, otherwise they're quite different cars beyond the panels/glass/interior electrics.

Yep bumpers and some interior stuff will be all that is the same, if its a CL it will have manual windows not electric ones so you wont even get electric reulators (although some would argue the manual ones are better anyway)

It would have to be pretttty cheap to be worth it.

Cheers for the replies. I can snatch it up for $350 it has a stuffed auto, I was really hoping the exhaust would fit as I know of people putting vr exhausts on the 2.0 so I thought they'd be interchangeable but I also did read about the pipe size being bigger on a vr. Oh well. Might let it go, not sure if I want all the hassle to go pick it up on the car trailer just for the bumpers and a few interior bits.

You probably could put the exhaust on the vr6, as in it would probably fit, but it would kill your performance and would probably be bad for the motor. If your current exhaust is too loud you could probably take it to an exhaust shop and have them put another muffler or resonator or something in to make it a little more quiet, that should be less than $300 easily.

If you're after lots of trim or something then maybe its worth it, maybe you could part it out and sell the other bits and pieces like the motor and such and make a little profit, would be a lot of work though

I definitely don't want to be losing any performance or do any motor damage and I do love the sound of my exhaust even though it can get annoying. I might just let it go I'm sure I can think of some other good mods to spend the money on instead.

Yeah, not really worth the hassle if you're putting on $350 for the wreck IMO.

That thought did cross my mind but it's unregistered and needs a blue slip so not worth the time and effort especially when 4 cylinder mk3's can be bought so cheap these days
