Thats what i was thinking....I called windscreens obrien and they are asking questions about rear view mirror sizes, vin numbers, location of the rear view mirror and rego numbers and all i wanted was a quote. The panels are the same as a gl so why wouldn't the screen be the same??? Rorting multinational.

you will find the early mk3 rearview mirror sits higher than the later mk3s other than that same shiz .

MrVR6exy i was just wondering what the round about price for replacing yours?...They are hitting me up around the $800 mark it seems a little steep, They mentioned some sort of windscreen surround that has to be replaced but other then that they provided no info.

Its true - pre 94 changeover the mirror is stuck on higher with a different stick. After that they are stuck on lower.
I got a PGI (good quality) screen put in mine a few years back by a private he comes to you type windscreen guy, did a fantastic job and it cost me $440.

If you get a big mob like obriens to do it they'll end up making you pay for the little plastic surround thats probably near impossible to get and it'll be a fortune. you dont need it anyway, it only keeps it neat and tidy, doesn cause leaks if you dont have it. not to mention obriens always supply cheap crap windscreens.

glass AINT glass. theres a massive difference between a good one and a bad one.

mate i called obrien and went through the same questions although at the time the lady was going off what was on her computer screen and didnt know alot, anyways lucky i had my other VR in the garage at the time so i was able to confirm that where the actual mirror mounts to the screen was different . I was quoted $600 with new foams , lifetime fitment warranty and a free coupon for one of those resin repair jobs if ever my screen got chipped and was fixable . I said to the lady it was quite expensive and i would have a think about it while i called around for a better deal..... 2 hours later i get a call from the same mob offering me the same deal at %50 off if i chose to go with them, so at $300 for all of that i did .
