    1996 vr6

Hey v dubbes !!! Just thought I might say I have just got a VR6 black 1996 model. I think the fella out of the candem gti may know about it? anyway its in WA now .....

My first golf was a 1976 2 door LS, which took me 1 year without any trouble and all stock, funny how they pull out with all the weight in the back and still pull into 4 gear!!!
Then was a 1991 gti, heavy on a feel of looks but unmodified except the air side and exhaust was all but sound and mature ....... but today was the vr6 for 3000 g 96 model and these things pull ... never had been in a car like this!! except the suspension is nothing like the mk2 gti 8v

Any one in wa ?? would be cool to meet up with some support on this car .... all black concept leather 5 speed manual, all refit was by by Camden GTI!! gearbox and motor?

All good so far!!! Needs better suspension?

Welcome to VR6 ownership! We will help you spend your money no problems You might want to look into getting a set of coilovers and a definite must to improve handling is a rear swaybar. Nuespeed is my preferred brand for swaybars

Hey welcome to the forum and congrats on your VR6. Coilovers would be an excellent upgrade ! The previous owner must have only had the VR6 for only few months as I remmeber a car going to perth from camden GTI. Nontheless, glad to see the car in good hands again.

coilovers from evorobin (pm him) for 500, f+r whiteline swaybars at less than 250 each = an awsome suspension setup for <1000$

hey dubsweeper, I graduated throught the VW ranks the same way except instead of a VR6 i went for an Ibiza Cupra 16V....first was a 76 MK1, then 91 Mk2 Gti, then the Cupra..however I did manage to encourage my old man to get a VR6, and you are right the Mk2 is a great handler

3K for a VR6 sounds like a good deal, good luck with it

I don't think Whiteline make swaybars for the VR6 Mischa? The Nuespeeds from Dubboi (Rennenhaus) came in at about the same $$ if not a bit less for both and are excellent, plus you get to support one of our own forum member's businesses Not to mention excellent customer service and product back up (shameless plug)

G'day, good to see another VR6 owner in Perth.

Was it down at the Vedub place in freo the other week? I saw one there with the halo lights.

We should hopefully be having a cruise through the hills sometime soon. 3 VR6's there will be sweet

    power steering !!!

gee power steering fitting from the filler tank to the inlet pump has giveway took it off yesterday the dicast fitting which i thought may have been the o ring!!! looked a bit closer and there is a fracture where the o ring sits.
Can i get a dicast fitting for it or does it have to be a complete pump ?hmmm any answer would be great ...... cheers
