1.8t into a CL...help!

Hi guys, really hoping you can give me some help..
Through chating around about wanting to do a engine swap in my cl, I ended up getting offered a 98 audi quattro 1.8t engine with the 5-speed box. So, i have 97 golf cl, but i have no idea if it would work or not. What would it entale? i have no problem doing the actuall work but, what is it going to cost? what things will i have to by also? etc..

So, i have been doing some searching, but all i can seem to find is mk4 gti swaps into mk3s.. if anyone has some information that would be great. Im really on crunch on decidng if i should buy this or not. And i do believe im getting all the wiring and drive train peices as well..

mk4 gti is the same kind of 1.8T you are talking about

if, when you say you can get hte "5 speed box" from the audi (quattro) then this wont be much good for you with the mk3, but a gearbox to go into the mk3 and behind a 1.8T is easy as, and GolfLoon could help with that.

The wiring loom might cause you some complications simply because you'd not be using all of the awd stuff, but i guess you should be able to make it work.

Ahhh, that helps out on doing research then.
Golfloon can help me with information but, im in canada, so i dont think he will be doing much for parts lol
And what about engine mounts? do they even come close to matching up?

Engine mounts need to be modified, but yes nothing too major.
