MK3 CL Not Turning Over. Quick help !

Hey guys so i've got my CL golf 1.8L which isnt turning over ATM. Just thought i'd come here and see if anyone can help me !

So for the last 2-3 days its taken me a few times turning the ignition to start up the car. I tried to go out last night and it still wouldn't turn over(this morning too). All the electronics work and the imboliser works aswell.

So my thoughts are it's either the alternator, coils or maybe something small.

If anyone has a quick fix to this let me know ASAP because my baby is just not being used

    Cheers !

Sounds like the symptoms for when my ignition coil went bad in my 2.0. Spray the coil with wd40 and see if that helps at all. Do you have spark?

Mine was driving around fine turned it off to get changed for work then wouldn't start. My ignition coil was busted. So even though it was fine yesterday it might not be sparking today. Try the wd40 and try an old plug into the ignition lead and rest on the valve cover see if there's a spark. If not maybe try the lead coming from the coil into the distributor cap with a spark plug.
Other thing to check out are the crank speed sensor / hall sender
Is the fuel pump priming? Common fault is the fuel pump relay. Number 167 from memory. Bottom right relay in the fuse box.

If its not turning over I can't see how it would be spark/fuel related... check your battery, alternator and starter and check all your grounds are good. Could also be something ignition switch related?

Or by not turning over do you mean it is turning over but not actually starting?

This was my assumption. I automatically thought it was cranking but not starting. Should have read it better. Sorry guys.

If batt ok could be starter or the common faulty Ign switch. turn the key to start and then hold it over just that little bit further to see if it tries to crank or jiggle key in the crank postion. If in fact it isnt "turning over"

Hmm i'll have to find a way to check all of these to find out the situation. Any chance that the engine oil has to do with it ? because i need to refill up the engine oil again. But besides that i can say that all electrics do work. Car isn't turning over at all(no ticking over).

Is there anything or ways to show that can show what the problems is ? or let alone check the alternators and ignition switchs that doesnt require a meter. ahha

Get the car scanned using a vagcom.

And low oil shouldnt be a problem. But id highly advise to fill it up ro do an oil change.
