You know you drive a golf... When even the guy in Supercheap tells you it's a rare car and he's never seen one around!

You also know you've got a MK2 when you meet other aussie MK2 owners scouring the globe and you keep crossing paths.
Brisbane, there's a MK1 in a garage two doors up here, there's a RED 90 spec floating on Lewin street in Bardon and
there's a MK3 16V ABF red one in town somewhere, but I may have dibs on that one!
Another ABF powered Golf? Haven't you suffered enough with the one you've got?

You know you own a MK2 when you pay more for used parts for it than new parts cost for a MK7 !
89 Mk2 3dr GTI , tornado red , 20V Turbo - weekend sleeper WRX eater 😃 , work in progress .
You know you own a MK2 when you have more pictures of your car on your phone then you do of your wife and kids
DAYCO Cam belt kit, SKF water pump and genuine front flange, heater matrix and dash to do soon. Touch Wood, the engine has been spot on for a while. It's the 675mm radiator that has me concerned, I need left side ports, all I can find right side...
You know you own a MK2 when you're constantly checking the floor for door card leaks.
... when you can't resist buying another one, even though it's got a smashed front end and you know it's going to take a lot of work to get it back on the road.
