    Width

What is the maximum wheel width under a MK2 Golf without scrubbing out or using stretch tyres ?
Can anyone pass on some knowledge ?

    Thanks

Just spent sooo long working this out...

Firstly, front or rear, what suspension, what guards, arch spats, what kind of look?

perhaps post up a pic from the net of what kind of position you want your wheel to stick out, then should be able to go from there.

I'd say probably maybe a 7" depends on ride height & tyres

    pretty much - rules are:

8" front, 9" back is what guard room permits. offsets need to change if you go wide track (vr6 arms etc)

rules can be bent/broken given an angle grinder/welding skills/patience/apathy toward tyre and guard conditions.

for equal stretch, go 8s all round - easy to get tyre sizes. staggered sets means rotating your tyres is quite difficult.

    Offsets:

anywhere between 15 and 35 depending on spacers/coilovers/suspension. choose wheels or suspension first!!

The mk2 stance thread on vortex has sooo much info by the way. with photos. with specs! check it out

With the right size adaptors, yes they will. What offset are they?

Porche d90's should fit easy with the correct adapters as stated, they're somewhere around 52 from memory so 25 or 30 mm adapter wold be good depending on tyre size... Are they the staggered set?
