    What have a I done ?

    Hi

I have just installed dual downpipe exhaust from a MK3 on to my mk2 8v. I had to splice the Lamda sensor wires in order reconnect due to the extra length. I used the same alloy as the origional wires ( taken from another sensor)

now I get a MPG reading on the MFA of no better than 10 MPG ( yes mine read mpg instead of L/km)

any thoughts ?? I guess it may not be the sensor it may be something else.

Have you trapped any of the vacuum lines? In the olden days a split pipe would have the MPG ramp up to 99.9 eventually. So a squished line would probably do the opposite?

Otherwise, check the wring you have done to the sensor, it won't matter what the wires are made of IMO. If you have got a couple swapped over however....

Try not to splice O2 sensors. They go by resistance from memory.
