That makes a lot of sense. It braces the top of the shock tower back to the solid framework that is the main cabin.

Yeh it's got a plate at both ends to spread the load then it's stitched to the inner guard to stop any movement , it's not much but everything counts and as I can't run a full cage in NSW I am pinching a bit of strengthening anywhere I can , like my half cage is also tied to roof rail just to reduce twist - again that a the idea anyway ! The behind dash cross member is stitch welded now instead of just spot welds , rear strut towers stitched , it's just a few little things ! Hopefully it will pay off
