Just curious, how much wider the VR6 wide track setup is over the standard mk2 gear.

Is it really only for VR6 swaps? or are there advantages of running the gear with a non vr6 engine? obviously wider track, bigger brakes and 5 lug are VR6 hubs and drive shafts completely different?
