    urgent coolant issue

    spoke to matt earlier ( tar brother )

    is there anyway to stop the coolant driping on to my foot well so that im dont lose coolant- im going through heaps , i just need a quick fix till i can get under it this wknd any suggestions

    if its leeking from the heater matrix which it probably is just put a u bend in the enginebay side of the coolant pipe(the two pipes that travel through the firewall off the gearbox side of the motor), its summer now so you dont need a heater. i did on my car a year ago and still havent fixed the heater

    Just buy a length of generic hose from Repco, Supercheap etc and join the two pipes together as a temp.

    cool im going to go look at it now so i should be able to see two hoses going into the firewall ?

    to easy lads my old man will get me a u bend and ill temp it up im gunna do a dash swap anyway thus i can rip out the ****y matting behind - lucky i got no carpet in

    ps ill do a write up cos we need to get a DIY thread thingo going in the mk2 section

    i remember i had a hack saw and no pipe so i saw a chair in the workshop with the metal legs and used a section of pipe it is still working

    heater cores

    Not only golf2's but I've had a run of golf 3's with the same problem(mainly vr6's).

    At least a Golf 2 dash comes out a bit easier than a Golf 3 one!

    You don't need to remove the dash to remove the heater matrix on a Mk2.
