    They are BMW offset rims, and I'm raising the golf as -80mm is too low, I can't have the front spoiler on and get up my driveway-even at an angle!

    Ive got a 205/40 on a 7.5" Rim, anything over that scrubs on my Polo

    Im sure I could squeeze a 215 on it... 225 just rubs everywhere

    I'd be going 215 MAX!

    That's more down to inappropriate rim choice for the car then! lol

    In terms of the original question, he definitely needs a wider tyre.
