    Rubbing guards

Thats why you don't put 17's on a mk1 as well as they look silly (too big)
15s are really the biggest for a mk1.
If you are up to date with whats on overseas no one has 17s on a mk1.That style went out years ago (1990s)

    Porsche wheels look great.
    My favourites for a mk1 are 928 s wheels and although they are 16's you can fit 195 /40 16s on .
anything like a 205 size is really too big.
Fitting of the Porsche wheels is not a straight bolt on as you will have to import some adapters from Europe so take that into consideration first before you rush into any purchase.
My son and I are building a 1.8t Mk1 Golf to burn off the Skylines at our local racetrack.
Dads gone for the comfort, power steering and grunt no doubt.
Anyway all the best with your car.

Mate, the cars are all looking slick in the photos.

Guys I saw the Mk2 at the show again and it is more impressive in the flesh. As for that damn yellow peril Mk1 I reckon we have to burn it. The only way that should win over yours is with judicious kickbacks, thats once, not three times. WTF!?

I gave out 50+ watercooled flyers and there was one speedy red Mk1 that I ran after but couldn`t catch! The watercooled guys are increasing but we are still too isolated. Basically get out to the garage fellas and start putting cars back together.

By the way I think that Jetta looks ridiculous with those rims.

Yes Golfwise its true that the retro look is back in in the UK and europe, but Australia being 15 years behind europe and never really having got away from the 13inch rims and chrome bumper look, I reckon the 90s look is the way to go. Being an 80s child, I reckon they look better like that and much more modern and ergonomic. I believe Mk2s should have big bumpers and Mk1s plastics and to hell with chrome.

However thats my opinion and theres lots of room for interpretation with Mk1s

The swallowtail is looking slick Al, might have to beat the yellow peril with that instead!

Dubstar with that offset a 40mm drop would cause rubbing but yours when driven with conviction must bounce with so little travel no?

I was recently reading this thread with some low cars in it
