    Temp guage gremlins

I'm having issues with my temperature gauge.

On the way to work yesterday it dropped from the usual vertical position to the cold position and twitched up about a quarter every time i went around a bend. I assumed it was just a bit of an electrical gremlin so i just parked it and wet to work.

On the way home and this morning it has been going haywire with the needle moving around on its own. The red warning light flashes furiously sometimes and sometimes it flashes intermittently.

I have checked and all the fluids are full and the fan kicks when driving and stays on the for the usual period of time after it is parked and the engine is switched off.

Is it a wiring problem, a dash problem or the thermostat?

Could be the sensor on top of the overflow bottle. Try bridging the two pins on the connector and see if that sorts the problem.

If not, its probably the blue 2 pin temp sensor.

Is that the sensor on the radiator? The cover has come adrift, could that be a factor?

No its on the water outlet on the front of the head. Or try the one on the overflow bottle first.
