My MK2 does this, but it was not the engine mount. It was the downpipe joint/coupling to the manifold. I initially thought it was the engine mount and changed the front one for the Vibratech mount and it didnt help. It developed this squeak after I changed the cat back to stainless exhaust.

interesting so it swueeks because of the engine rocking thus pulling the couling and causing stress?

If its the standard original down pipe for RV engine than it would be the friction ring coupling p/n 161 298 115
Better off changing the manifold and down pipe to the euro version as being discussed in the exhaust thread.

    Unhappy

Im pretty sure its a different exhaust manifold and downpipe. The standard RV engines got bottle necked

3me is the number on the head. What engine code is it? Look on the papers.
