Smoke coming from around engine

In other random mk2 smells, Every now and then I get the smell of burning wax through the vents. More often then not it's when I have the heat on and normally when i'm idling through a carpark or something.

took it to the exhaust shop, they looked at it and couldn't do anything as it was oil that was burning, who knows where it's leaking from now??

That would be 'cat' oil. And despite what the garage have said, it's imaginary smoke and you ARE paranoid and we DO have a conspiracy building against you.

yeah could be as easy as a new valve cover gasket. or they may even be loose and just need a nip up.

Found the problem, inner CV boot is split flicking grease onto the exhaust downpipe. annoying!
