I was told its OK to drive it if you're going straight to the RTA to get it registered. So i'm sure you will be fine mate

Legally you can get a permit for the trip just like taking it to the compliance place for $20 although I just drove mine back from the shippers without one.

Shipping was a pain, ended up close to $6000AUD to get it here. (It's being AQIS cleaned for $538 and the parts inside it for 25so it can only go up from there.
CUSTOMS clearance though, the total bill was:
$38

Something is working in my favour, though when i had a quick squiz at it whilst collecting my personal effects, they've managed to pull the drivers flare off and scrape it along something and there are more scratches than before (took pics before, and apparently the shippers have aswell) just trying to work out what to do regarding this as the shipping company have had a break down in communications regarding my docs!
