    Should i buy a mk2??

    HEY everyone,
my daily is an 05 golf tdi with a couple of mods,
however i recently stumbled upon a dub enthusiast selling his wires mk2 gti,
its red, 123000km, its bee owned by one owner all tis life, then this guy bought it for his wife but she doesn't like it so he's selling it. its very clean, stock everything, has rego etc,
he's asking 3000, I'm thinking of offering say 2300 and working up from there?
not sure why i want it, and whether id sell the mk5, pocket the change, and drive the mk2 daily.or just have it as a project. i only drive to uni and to work a couple of days a week, and dads a dub nut as well and i have a family mechanic who charges pennies for work to be done,

    so,,
    coils, 15 x 8's, zorst, stereo?

    opinions?

it has 153km, going to test drive it, get it up on stands, etc, the owner has a set of 15 x 8 with 195 tires on them he said they look awesome. might pin them up too!

There is a massive difference in terms of driveability as a daily. I wouldn't have a mk2 as a daily.

If possible, get both, but $3k is a reasonable price depending on how much needs to be spent to get it up and running.

As mentioned, it will be a big difference (comfort wise) compared to a MK5.

MK2's have a very 'direct' 'raw' feel, I've never driven a car that performs/acts as my MK2 does, I guess you could say they've got attitude (?).

If your prepared for a project then deffinantly, go ahead and buy one.

I've been dailying mine for nearly 2 years now (with many on/off repairs)

you wouldn't have one as a daily? its rock stock, auto, every things tight, owned by a ferdantic vw enthusiast. i only drive about 10 - 20kms a day.

i already have the mk5, its mine owned and paid for

the mk2 is fully registered so nothing needs to be spent on it.
