Hit the rust with a rust converter (from Bunnings ) and let that dry over night.
Next up I gave it 3 prime coats with kill rust (in a tin), which turned out quite well.
Finally (paint wise), just used a old tin of touch up paint from our old Falcon, (wasn't even sure how close the colour was) gave it 5 light coats and the result was this.

Of course I sprayed as much fish oil as possible inside the tunnel to hopefully slow any further rust (god forbid it come back!)

Then just put some "Knead it" to fill the hole and give it a bit of water resistance.

This hopfully won't be permanent, just until I can afford to get new metal welded in there properly.

We'll today I did the Upgrade that Ive been planning on doing for a while....upgrading my headlights!!!
As any MK2 owner would know how craap their headlights are, I followed the step by step thread posted by velly_16v_cab in the 'Conversion' area of the forum

Now I actaully have decent low beam!!!

    Lowbeam/Dip Before and After

And the High beam Before and After (Not as noticable result)

Planning of getting some Philips Extreme +80 Globes once I have the $$.

Was going to do a bit of work to the car on Saturday.
    Planned on :
    -Changing tranny drive flange seals
    -Replacing Gearbox oil
-Replacing leaking oil cooler pipe (cooland leak)
    -Fixing oil cooler flange leak
-Addressing a split steering rack boot.

However, we only had our friends hoist for about 5 hours in which time we only managed to do the first 2 things on the list!!!
We also managed to forget to put the new cap/seal on the drive flange back on (of course this was realised AFTER resassembling the front drive assembly)

    DOH!!!

So the car will be going back there soon to put that seal in and hopfully do a few of the other things that where planned

Can I be nit picky and ask if the camera had the same settings kept for each photo?

    Thanks

Certainly did, didn't change a thing.
The car was also in a similar position both times aswell.

I feel like my car is trying to get revenge on me for no reason at all.

Had to get the muffler replaced today as the original was well an truly buggered.
So $140 (not a bad price) later, I now have a much healthier sounding exhaust note, aswell as having the exhaust tips sitting in a much better position.

The synthetic gearbox oil has now givin me a much much much better gear change feel, it really 'slips' into gear by itself now with no effort.

Incase your interested the oil is called 'Super Shift LS' and is made by a company called 'Marque Lubricants'. Its an API 75W90 GL-5 rated oil. We have it in both our manual cars and many friends use the stuff aswell. A very good oil IMO.

Im guna note that down. I have read on Vortex that the best oil you can use in a 5speed is the stuff they put in the corvette gearbox.
