Wow, I'm jealous mate
Did you get the new ignition lock housing because of the failed bearing in your old one? Could you please do a write up when you fix this? I'll be very interested to see how you go.
Good on you mate, keep up the good work!

I not certain if the bearing has actually failed in the old housing.
I attempted to replace the ignition housing, switch and lock the other day, but was unable to because I have the big to small spline adaptor on my steering column (there a press fitted on, you need alot of force to take them off!)
I just followed this thread 4130 Products - Step-By-Step
but happy to help out if needed.

Very nice mk2
Nothing monumental, but worth a mention.
After getting sick of poor radio reception on the old Kenwood headunit, thought it was time for a new headunit, that suited the car better.
Enter this great little unit from Jaycar, nice simple look and easy to use
Reception problem ended up being multiple faults with the coaxial cord and connections, all fixed now.

I just replaced my ignition lock housing. To get the spline adapter off, I put some vice grips behind the shoulder of the adapter. Then attach some gear pullers onto them and the steering column. It came off quite easily.
Ryan that link u put up is great!!
My bearing was a little sloppy, but the ignition switch was f*#%*$!!! it starts easily now
Took less than an hour
