I thought about it, even have a spare can of black caliper paint. Maybe next time, when I rebuild the calipers.
I've heard about the rear axle/shaft nut on bugs, the torque figures are massive! (a mans weight on the end of a 1ft pipe?)

Thanks for the feedback - AFAIK, Textar are a German OEM brand, I know they do pads for BMWs and Mercs as well - do they create a lot of dust? My wheels get very dirty with brake dust over the course of a typical week.

Sorry, haven't had a chance to check the ignition lock housing, yet, but will get onto it sometime this coming weekend, I hope.

    Good job as always, mate!
That's cool, now I know they were decent quality pads.
I would have to say they don't create too much dust, but I only travel about 100km tops per week.

It's a Kinchrome wrench I picked it up off ebay.
    It's a 3/8 drive 5-80 ft/lb version.

Be aware though, that seller mucked me around for over a month before sending it.

Cool, thanks. Did you need any other specific tools for the job?

Man oh man, feels like christmas, more parts arrived!

Enough oil filters to last a life time and just about everything I need to fix up most of the loose ends with the MK2.
