    Reverse lights weird problem

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I'm having a weird problem with my reverse lights. I splice a mk2 connector to the mk4 agu harness and when I put the car in reverse the car kicks over. Everything else on the car works except for this weird problem. Any help is appreciated

by kicking over do you mean the car cranks when you physically put the shift lever in the car into reverse? if yes i have seen this before.. after a repair the linkage on top of the gearbox was refitted but the big balance weight was put in the incorrect position so when reverse was selected the balance weight actually moved over and hit the stater motor power connection... this waz a mk5 but similar set up...VDUB...

Thanks for your reply. I ended up finding out that a pin from the f plug had been put in the wrong place, swapped it over and now everything is working.
