    hey alex,

what you do is,get someone to hose the car whilst you are inside the car.you should see where it is entering the car.Id say its your top seal around the door.
I absolutely hate water leaks in a car,,bloody stinks!!!!

Did you take a corner too fast or something?

I get a slight leak in that same spot in heavy rain or when i wash it but doesnt get anywhere that wet, mie is in the top of the window seal I think.

Sometimes the seals shrink with age and then they don't touch the right parts of the door. Happened to my mk2, luckily friends had some spare seals.....no problems now.

Check the drain holes in the underside of the doors. What can happen is the doors fill up because the window scrapers aren't doing their job. When the door gets full enough the water overflows into the interior of the car.

I doubt it's your door seals, they're doing an excellent job of keeping the water in!

The seals are a known problem with older MK2s, don't rule them out totally but I would agree to check what other people have mentioned first. I have posted it up because it is not the most obvious thing to look for. Had my door overflowing in one of my MK1s ages ago to. Good Luck.

    Wet

I had wet carpets due to a blocked drain hole in the rain tray, When the car was parked the rain tray would fill up and enter thru the fresh air vent.
Some how this water pooled at the rear after driving.
Not sure if MK1 and 2 have the same drain holes but worth a look.
