OK, I have a dumb NEWBIE question for you
I've seen the name ABF around here a bit, but I have no idea what that means. I'm of course aware of the 8v engine and the 16v engine in the GTI but one of you will have to enlighten me on what an ABF is..........
Thanks in advance and sorry about the asinine question.

An ABF is a 2.0l 16V engine from a MK3 Golf GTI or Seat models. ABF is the engine code.
As VW didn't bring the MK3 GTI 16V to australia you'll only find them in Seat's. They're desirable because they're easy to install, don't weigh much and have 150bhp as standard.

Ah OK. Thanks for that
We really missed out on a lot of VW models didnt we? I suppose there was no market for the Mk3 GTI with the Vr6 on sale.
