    Need some advice.

ok so im new here, ive been following early model golfs for a while, decided i mite have a go at getting my own.
a few questions, which i know may pop up in old threads, i did a search, but i wanted clear answers.

5door Mk2 GTi, from what i see, not a 16v, 145000kms. completely stock, been looking a while, seems to be the tidest ive come across. im after one because there not a mirage with pink paint work, and because there considered a quick hatch.

i want to know any of your thoughts on the car.
    reliability?
    running costs?
    performance?
    prices?

anything really, anything helpful to a newcomer.
    cheers.

16V Mk2's weren't sold over here, you'd be hard pressed to find one. The one you described has nice low kms. How much is it? Can you link us to some pics? If it's immaculate then $4000-$4500 is as high as you'd wanna pay. Most of them go for around $3000 these days.

The Aussie Mk2 is not a quick car when stock though. They handle great and are fun to drive, but you'll need to mod it in some way for more acceleration.

Looks tidy but not worth 7 grand. He might get 4-4500 as previously mentioned. He'll still have it at Christmas if he sticks to his guns.
