Hey mate,
Have you had a look inside the ISV? It might be all caked up inside, if it is use some petrol and let it soke... This is the hint thats given inside the VAG service manual...
Hope that helps a bit

LOL i F'ed the timing, car runs like an RV now. It was geting dark I had to pack it up. Ill (try) and fix it tomorrow.
I swaped the vacume lines and ISV, no change.
Fun times.
*EDIT*
It wasnt the timing, it was a cracked dizzy cap.
The idle is still hunting.

yeah the black and silver looks trick. its something a bit different aswell which is always good, can always spray the bonnet back if you get sick of it
I've seen a few mk1's with shaved rear door handles but not the fronts, I think it looks pretty cool, sort of gives a 2 door illusion.
Would work well on a mk2 also.
76 MkI 3 door - daily drive/project - 1.8 5speed
76 MkI 3 door swallowtail - 16v track car
76 MkI 3 door "long term" project
I found out its an 89 model....i thought it was 90, no difference but just something i didnt know.
I got a RWC inspection done today........:
- wipers
- parkers are blue (they are white but whatever!)
- dash lights all need to work
- front grill needs to be secure
- no number plate globes
- secure and mount radiator (...Matt?)
- no timing belt cover (do i use a mk3 cover?)
- front shocks
- exhaust mounts
- rear wheel bearings
- secure wires under front bar
- passenger side seat is loose
- wash motor and repair oil leaks
- p/s drive shaft boot
- drive shaft seals
- p/s lower side skirt trim
- refit fog light
- 2 new tyres
- front rotors
- rear rotors
- p/s tie rod end boot (wtf is that?)
- possible water leak
- accelerator pedal rubber (Mk2's dont have one do they?)
- front engine mount
As you can see I didnt go to my usal guy....because he lost his RWC license.
Most of this stuff i already knew so not realy a big suprise other than the parkers, radiator, rotors and pedal rubber. I know have a better excuse to change it back to 4x100 stud pattern and use the bbs wheels.
Unrelated to the RWC, i want to know why my 2nd gear ALWAYS grinds when i slap it from 1st to 2nd quickly, it did it on the red one aswell and its only in 2nd. keep in mind the box has been rebuilt. Is it just what they do or is they syncro no good?
Im off to do some shopping at GAP the best kind of shopping.
