    My new 16V

Hi all. Just thought i'd introduce myself and my new 16v 2dr. I bought it sight unseen from Gareth in Canberra that advertized it on here. Who I found really helpful over the sale. Its always a risk buying a car interstate that I havent personally drove or had it checked over by a friend. But I was rerally pumped when I saw it on here so I thought 'what the hell'. Also I got it towed down to Adelaide for $305 which I thought was bloody awsome. This is my first Mk2 and first time in a 16v. Ive drove a couple of 8v before and wasnt overly impressed.

I picked the car up this morning. First impressions werent the greatest. Was hoping it was going to be in abit better shape. Drivers door is in worse shape then I thought. Getting some quotes on straightening it and respray or maybe import one from abroad. I was hoping the paint was only going to need a good cut and polish but may need abit more then that. Ive booked it into a car detailer tomorrow who's going to give it a polish anyway. Should look abit more presentable. Drivers seat is pretty ratty but overall the interior is pretty good. I may also see if I can get a leather seat shipped over as I think the leather on the drivers seat is too far gone for repair. My first drive was awsome though. This thing really flies along. At first I didnt think it drove that great until I really opened it up, big smiles.....Now the fun begins fixing her up to her former glory. Below are some improvements and fix up's that ill be doing in the next few months.

    repair drivers door
replace the JOM coilevers with Koni shocks and 60mm lowered springs
    replace drivers seat
    new front lights
replace wheels with BBS Rs style wheels
    replace drivers handle and lock
    find a rear parcel shelf
    recondition the head
    New exhaust

Overall im super pumped. I think it should turn out to be a really cool ride, just needs some cash and time to get it looking and going good.

Got it all detailed this week. Polished up good. Bought some Autoglym for all the black trim. Has come up well, for now anyway. Had a major water hose leak yesterday. It was the short hose coming from the waterpump housing that steps down in size. I managed to find a hose off a EA Falcon that worked on both endes. Also changed the water pump while I was at it. Anyway heres a few more new pics.
