My MK2 (with problems)

Check the temperature at both radiator hoses, upper and lower,touch it. On operating temperature there should be both the same.
if the bottem one stays cold there will be your thermostat stuck.
getting both are the same temperature it is the temperature switch in the radiator for the fan.
check also the coolant bottle cap. is the seal sitting in right?

New problem....

Got home today and the golf was bellowing out with steam, cooling system not working/realized the radiator fan wasn't working... any simple fix?? fuse? dodgy connection? im not really sure where to begin... nearly ready to give up on the Mark II. nothing but problems
