    My Mk2 Gti

Thought Id share a pic of my wee car. Only had her for about a month, so far she has had a 2ltr engine slotted in with cam, polished and ported head (thanks golf loon) and a set of 16V alloys fitted (again thanks Matt!). Next on the hit list is the suspension with new sway bars front and rear and stiffer and lower springs! And some slotted rotors on the front.

Good choice of car there & welcome to forum

    We always need more mk2's
It sounds like you are on the right track in the way of mods

Where did you get your roof racks?

    cheers Ian

Glad its still going well Al.

Just for your info you blokes, it has a full 2L engine fitted, not just bottom end and a full 2E Mk3 wiring loom. It basically runs the standard Mk3 ecu etc, but with a worked head and a nice cam.

Will probably go even better when it has a better exhaust on it.

Sounds like you can't go wrong with a combination like that
I'll be interested to know the difference of the performance between that & 16v conversion

Yeah you told me to stop messing about with the Mk2 loom and put the whole 2L one in. So I did

I had various looms from Mk3s and Various SEATs lying around.
I eventually used one from a Toledo as it has mechanical speedo, and was routed in exactly the same was as a Mk2. Everything plugged in. Only mods were headlight plugs and heater controls.

Got an exhaust made up on saturday for the car, one hotdog and one straight thorough box, now has bit more go(i think), and sounds less like a tractor.
Aliasmk2, the roof bars are thule,(as are the bike racks) but I think i got the last set in OZ. Give the guys at thule a call and see what they have though. Will look up the part number in the book tomorrow.
