    My Car Broke

Well on my way home, about three street from my house, was coming down a hill and felt the car accelerate quickly as if it wasn't in gear. U stopped at the end of the street to turn right, put it in first, went to take off, and the car just revved. Thought it was in neutral but wan't. Also didn't sound to good.

Since my dad was home, he used his NRMA van to tow me home. While pushing her up the drive way, fluid leaked out!!!

Im really worried and need someone to take a closer look as my dad dosen't really work on them at work so hasn't got a background knowledge.

I think its the CV joint or something in the gearbox as you can still select gears, and the clutch is still fine. It just wont move.

Any tips will be well received. I really dont want to have her down and out.

Thank god i have old faithful to get me round in the mean time

    cv joint

Never heard of a sheared pinion, my monies on the CV joint.
Take a look at the CV boots if they are damaged and have grease on the outside that's likely the problem.
There not hard to replace but you will need some special tools.
If its that badly damaged you will want to get a half shaft assembly, best to buy it new they are not too expensive.

    Good luck

I've taken a look at it and it looks like its more to do with the diff and the bearings. In other words need to probably take the whole gear box out.
