All this talk about Rallyes. Man, it's one of the sweetest cars I've ever laid eyes on.

They're all left hookers right? Would they be tough to import if you were lucky enough to find one?

They are all left hookers mate, VW made 5000 so they could qualify as a production class Rally car. Not so much tough to import if you could find one thats build date is '88, to register one you'd have to convert it to RHD though.

Pretty much what i'd love to do with a Rallye, R32 conversion would be awesome

The syncro drivetrain is pretty handy. The rest of it is a taste thing. I have been in some quick ones, one of the best had a 20vt conversion and 300+ hp. It had a bit on an appetite for rear diffs.

A mate had a GTI G60 syncro which had the same drivetrain and was a much stealthier car and a great deal rarer than a Rallye.

The headlights are shocking at night.

STD ones aren't that quick, you just have to chip and pulley them to get reasonable performance. I drove one that was modified by Oettinger from new and with the extra weight of the syncro, it was no faster than my GTI G60.

They look pretty do look dull with std wheels, some splits make all the difference.
