Oh man I want a coupe!
very cool! what a turn around... though i'm going to fail you on the bbs caps!
the bbs caps or badges are the only genuine part of the wheel lol
cheers for all the comments lads.
anyway, the old engine is out now and im putting in a 9a 2.0 16valver and running it on bike carbs, deleting battery, powersteering res, washer bottle and coolant expansion tank and filling up all the holes from when i converted it over to right hand drive,
some pics of the old unit being removed
im going to be using the loom and ignition bits from a kr 1.8 which has all the parts i need for the spark and for the advance
the engine if from a corrado, wasnt to sure if the engine mount would work but they all line up anyway.
its only a trial fit to line up a few things and back out again to have the box rebuilt and clean it all up
so the plan is to clean up the bay alot more than what it is.
and eventually fill up all the holes in the bulkhead and remove all the studs etc in the bay also
its going to be running carbs anyway so its going to do away with alot of the wiring etc, battery and washer bottle going in the boot and top fill rad also goin in the bay to try and do away with as much clutter as possible.
more bits to come and plenty more pics
pedal box and shifter are from a 92 corrado...
R1 carbs from the states..$120 shipped
heres the tilt ajust steering column from a u.s mk2 golf
putting in the pedal box from the corrado
this bracket has to be removed and rewelded to line up with the bolt
heres where the clutch master cylinder is going to be going
not to sure how to go about getting the cylinder in to fit without battering up the bulkhead?
its going to be sitting round here somewhere
all fun and games :lol
heres the whole unit from a corrado
resevoir is from an audi a3 with the take off for the clutch master cylinder
you can just make out the 2 holes drilled where the master cylinder is going
pieces cut out
one of the templets made
bits trial fitted to see if the hole was big enough.....it wasnt:thumbdown:
eventually got it right and cleaned it up
welded up the main plate, and made up a template for the 2 half moon pieces to finish off the job
weapon of choice
template
still a bit more work involved but getting there.
