I am looking at putting a 02m gearbox into my mk2 and would like to know which vehicles come with hydro clutch pedalbox. Which one would be the best to modify to fit the mk2.

Yeah I know the 02a and02j r easier but I already have the 02m so I'm going stick with it, it's meant to be a tough box.

The Mk3 Vr6 has a hydraulic clutch.
The seat cupra sport has a mechanically operated hydraulic clutch which you can use to convert your car with if you don't want to change the pedal box.
mk2 GTi 16v
Corrado G60
A few of the late 020 boxes came with Hydraulic guys., but yeah you are right the 02m is a toughie, havent heard or seen any dramas with it yet, and its been out for a long time now

yeah it is a 6 speed. Do you no which brackets I'll need to get made up? Are you changing to the mech operated hydro clutch. You'll have to write up a thread on it with some good pictures. What car are u doing this in?
do they have many of these in aus? Where could I find one that is being wreck? What parts would I need to get from the cupra. If I went down this route, I coul use the mk2 pedal box or do I need the pedalbox from the cupra as well?
Thanks Jd
You can read my thread in the restorations and projects section (I dunno how to put the link in here!??)
I've got the 1.8t goin in my mk2 with a Corrado 02A box, which was hydraulic clutch. You basically take off the old cylinder and put on the mechanical SEAT part in its place.
There are pics of all this on the current page on my rebuild thread.
You can get the mechanical part thru VW in Aust as it was found on some T4's (and some Passats I think??), but it was a $300+ part and had to come from Germany.
I got mine from a friend in Barcelona in the end who organised it thru his mate who works at SEAT. Was $207 incl freight!
The part number is round here somewhere...
