Started life as a factory 1990 mk2 8v GTi, 2 door big bumper, delivered new to Dovercourt, London ...yes...I have service history dated back to delivery.
Soon after purchase brand new I believe it was modified to an RE2000 by GTi Engineering, Silverstone. The car always came badged with GTi engineering, and definitely had a more punchy 2000 8v when I bought it. I have service history from GTi Engineering...what I don't have is proof that this work was ever carried out (GTi engineering don't have records that far back). Usually there would be a plate on the slam panel, but looking through the history the slam panel has been replaced. The old engine is gone anyway....so is it a GTi Engineering car or not? You decide.
First registered in NZ in Whangarei. Yes I have the service records from then too.
I bought her in Auckland in 2007, cherished for 18years, with many hours, blood, sweat and tears....but time to move on.
First registered to my father when I bought, transferred to me 21/5/07. Car was certified for modifications in 2016.
Unfortunately when overseas working I let the car get deregistered...she sat stored for a few years....had to go start all over. A better car for it. All rust repaired, fully repainted in original colour silbergrau, new headling and now road worthy as of March 2023, and cert for all modifications still current. Have all the documentation regarding that work.
Both reg and WOF pending next week.
Sunroof, power steering, electric windows, NO AC
Modifications
Good condition used matching interior from UK and had seats recovered and restored. ABF conversion which works perfectly with CE2 loom, dash and MFA all work. Lightened flywheel, uprated clutch,, USRT short shift, 020 gearbox which was completely rebuilt in 2011 (not many kms since that time)
Spax RSX coilovers with minimal mileage. BBS RS001, genuine. Have been split many times to different specs, powdercoated centres in black. Re-assembled professionally with matching front and rear 1.5" lips, brand new chrome bolts recently, half height centre hex nuts.
Genuine Jetex cat back stainless exhaust, 2.5" Larger Passat brake cylinder (22m I think), G60 calipers and discs drilled up front 280mm, new brake pressure regulator, braided hoses, mk4 alloy calipers and new discs rear, sport pads all round.
Clear indicators, side repeaters, genuine half smoked Hella tail lights, professionally tinted, have genuine NOS Hella headlights to be installed.
Momo staring wheel and gear knob. New race spec in tank fuel lifter pump, new wheel bearing each corner.
ABF has grey powder coated intake manifold and rocker cover

fair call...
from my perspective, it is difficult to price the car.
What it needs is someone serious to start a conversation about price...but I highly doubt that will happen in a hurry!
it is listed on trademe for more details
