    Update: 04/02/2023

Haven't given up but boy its hard to finish this thing off. Bonnet, roof and passenger side all sanded, cut and polished. Trying to sand the 2k clear really gets the arms pumping, especially starting at 1200 grit and working upto 2500.

    Respect

Now you have to keep it, don't sell even though their value has shot through the roof.

Crazy hey! Funny how it said that the sensible people stopped bidding around 45k haha and then the two guys bid it up to 87k... does it make them enthusiasts or idiots.. or both lol

    Update: 10/02/2023

Fixed the rain gutter trims tonight by gluing brand new soft rubber to the original hard plastic bodies. Can't say I was overly impressed with gluing the $350 worth of rubber I had to buy from the US as a repair kit as the profile didn't really seat very well to the hard rubber. Bit stupid tbh, but we all know that trying to find new or even good condition used gutter trims is next to impossible. They look ok in the end, would much rather the whole thing just be brand new.

Added a few extra pics of some other parts slowly getting put back on Quite exciting!

Try sourcing your parts from China.

Up until a couple of years ago their taxi fleet were MK2 Jettas. Literally thousands of them in China, all needing parts.

    Cheers

Gave that a shot, unfortunately no good for rain gutter trims. bit of a scarce item which is a pain.

Rear window in, as well as a bunch of other rubbers. Still got the OzEdition sticker on the rear window! Slightly peeled but in pretty good condition, used to be a small following of VW enthusiasts in Tassie I believe? Hopefully someone knows a bit of its history!!

    Got to keep the sticker.

    A piece of history.

That's why I still have the old VW Watercooled sticker.
