    i meant to mention i also have a turbo diesel rear badge for it. ( not a genuine mk 2 one though its just a copy)

    Sorry but it sounds like a n/a GLD if its 44kw ,the turbo version was a bit more than that,anyway cheap to run and a very tough wee motor,believe you can play with the fuel pump and turbo them but hardly worth the cost unless you love the oil burners.
    The later TDI motors can be boosted to make huge power and torque but these early clatterboxes are fairly limited mod wise.
