    MFA Clocks

Both GTI's MFA clocks cant be set to set the correct time with the push buttons. Anyone know why this is or has the same ? Common failure ?

I remember a while back not being able to set the time and i'd left it for so long.

When i had my battery disconnected last time i reset it and it worked!

    go figure?

Mine works fine, i have the early k-jet one, apparently its a little different tho...
although the contacts behind sometimes get gritty, i have to push quite hard to get mine to set the time.

Must be coincidental that both mine dont work. Battery has been disconnected many times which it did not fix. Just thought it may be common and if anyone knows what the fix is.

I suppose I will wait for midnight and connect the battery then to set the time.

it needs to be pushed in a fair way...I use a pin...
I tried to do mine with a pen etc...but wouldn't let me push it in far enough..
its quite a small hole it pushed thru...

Funnily i have to add after i have had a set of clocks that had issue removed from the vehicle ( to fix a temp gauge) i reconnected it of course i cleaned everything with contact cleaner all was well.
Try removing and cleaning as the good friend before has mentioned they do get gritty.

Any body done the below instructions before ? I am interested what others have for (1, 2 in MFA pos 1) and (1, 5 in MFA pos 2)

    MFA pos 1
    1. "117"
    2. "1"

    MFA pos 2
    1. "7401"
    5. "0"

These are the secret functions of the MFA in case you need to find them later.
Put your key in (no turn yet). Press and hold the MFA button. Turn key to acc. position. Turn key all the way back. Turn key again to acc. position (no, it's no joke... ). Release the MFA button.
You are now in the 'secret' MFA operation mode. Below you see a overview of what the codes and numbers mean. Nice gadget: the digital rev counter

    MFA switch on position 1:
    1. Engine code
    2. Land code
    3. Speedometer
    4. Upper rev limitter
    5. Lower rev limitter
    6. Decelaration fuel pressure
    7. Display test

    MFA switch on position 2:
    1. Test programm of programmed bytes
    2. G60 pressure meter
    3. Digital rev counter
    4. Fuel usage (like normal)
    5. Signal from speedo sensor
    6. Oil temperature (like default)
    7. Ambient temperature (like default)

The codes given below are for G60 (see MFA2-2). But they also work for 8v and 16v (without the boost pressure off course...) MFA menu will go back to deafult when you turn to key back and turn it to acc. mode again (without pressing the MFA button off course).

That's handy with a G60 to check the boost pressure if you don't have a boost gauge.

The G60 clocks have a different pressure sensor to the std digifant GTI clocks.
