    Join the golf club...

    ...for the second time.

I just bought a red mk2 GTI from a mate.

150,000 on the clock, in desperate need of a service (can anyone say 3 cylinders) but other than that it's in great condition.

Might put a MK3 motor in it, not sure as yet. It's a project car atm so I am open to suggestions. Am keen on keeping it OEM as possbile

    Cheers

Don't put a poo Mk3 donk in it mate.. Put a 16v in it or play with the one you've got..

Nice buy, only 150k is pretty good.

first of all it's not low enough!

i reckon you should either vr6 or abf it. that'd definately be my two choices because it's aussie delivered (looks so) and obd1 vr6/16v abf should be a relatively simple process in digi1. if this makes no sense, you're engine loom should (basically) work with those motors.

to start with, change the downpipe to a mk3 8v. they're still fun to cruise around in stock

My suggestions would be to get a suspension kit first that lowers it and it will transform the look and feel of your MK2.
Probably some wheels to set it off and an exhaust to give it that note of Golf BALLZ

hey mate , if you arnt too worried about going fast and just want a nice drive just give your motor a good service, waterpump belts etc. and drive it around. there are plenty of options if you want to go fast.

Yes on the suspension but the brakes are great with pads and fluid...PI on slicks say no more.

I can organise a new motor for cheap if you need one too
