is this for real???? i had a worked 1.9 running full aftermarket ecu with lots of mods in a mk2 and its was quick but not QUICK> how much power do you think it has,

i actually drove a mate's vr6 for a day last week. pretty tidy. and it has torque everywhere.
but driving this thing is fking ridiculous! k-jet is a big bag poop when the sensors are 20 yrs old and the loom is crustier than toast. to stop the pinging, the distributor is a lot more retarded than it could be and i pretty much have no power until 3 grand.
but from then it's all a bit crazy. I have to completely change my driving pattern to stay in the torque band. right now i think it's somewhere around 5-6 degrees static advance but yeah, if i'm not stuck in the <3000 rpm torque hole, this will eat stock vr6s...

Good to hear it's running well mate.
You could always advance the cam timing a bit to move the power band lower if you are struggling for bottom end..

yeah i should get on to that.
it was running about 32 - 33 degrees advance at about 4500 up to near redline.
to what preen said, that's exactly what i thought about doing. advancing the cam gear half a degree maybe for a bit of drivability. But we're going to need to do something about the idle...
if it's above 1500, it's fine and smooth, but above 1500.. if it's below it's like 700-1400 1600-600..etc ie lumpy as all hell.
The idea of some sort of individual throttling interests me because i'm lead to believe that the individual pressure changes from each cylinder pulse doesn't affect the others. which ---> better idle (also itbs... )
so yeah, i'm going to take some sort of plunge when uni holidays come around
