    Hi Dado,
    Welcome to the forums.
It's easy enough for someone to stick some badges and fairings on a golf and call it a GTI.
    Let's hope you've got a real one!
3 doors are pretty rare as they were only brought in as private imports.
    Cheers

The boot sticker shows RV engine code, same as Australia Mk2 GTI engine, I think it's a genuine Japan spec GTI. Post a engine bay pic then it can be confirmed.
There is a Japanese guy who has a website of his Mk2 Gti, his Mk2 engine is also RV. Try google to see if the site still live.

Copied your pictures so it's easier to see.

Great looking car. That engine bay is identical to mine.

Was it much hassle getting it registered?

    Cheers

ok all good thanks mate anyway I bought the car couple weeks ago and it was registered so I don't know if it would of been a hassle I guess not but again not sure only thing is vic roads have the car as a 77 but its a 89 they apparently don't have it in the system its due for rego next month hopefully no dramas it passed a roadworthy with no problems. Is your a GTI?
