I got a few pictures up on my profile page along with the sticker from the boot I have a service book as well but that's all in Japanese I'll take some pics of the engine tomorrow and put them up I think its just a base model but yea it was advertised as a gti so I'm not 100% sure
The boot sticker shows RV engine code, same as Australia Mk2 GTI engine, I think it's a genuine Japan spec GTI. Post a engine bay pic then it can be confirmed.
There is a Japanese guy who has a website of his Mk2 Gti, his Mk2 engine is also RV. Try google to see if the site still live.

ok all good thanks mate anyway I bought the car couple weeks ago and it was registered so I don't know if it would of been a hassle I guess not but again not sure only thing is vic roads have the car as a 77 but its a 89 they apparently don't have it in the system its due for rego next month hopefully no dramas it passed a roadworthy with no problems. Is your a GTI?
