Well as far as i know i dont need a passport since im a permanent i.e born australia citizen and residency issues to not apply to people who are importing a vehicle prior to 1989.

WHO CAN IMPORT A VEHICLE - Personal Import approval will only be given by the Department of Infrastructure to Migrants with full residency visas, or to Australian Nationals or to New Zealand Nationals, who are of driving age in Australia. You will be required to provide proof of Australian residency by way of a passport or visa. If you are a migrant you will be required to provide proof that you have been granted Permanent Resident Status in Australia. Temporary residents and Companies are not eligible. Vehicles built prior to 1 January 1989 are exempt from the Residency requirement.

I like what are you trying to do.You need to know you need keen people on the other side to help you push this thru.I know a few people in Japan that do this work on commision based thing, from parts, wheels,cars,bikes....whatever you want they will look for you ,buy it and send it over.commision is based on work and money involved but not to expensive as they are individuals and they work is 100% based on recomendation and reputation.Unfortunatly i dont know anyone in UK that does this kind of work.

    Well I've emailed:

the guy whose folks will help me

Phil who owns the car and try and ring him, what time is best due to time difference(dont want to ring in the middle of the night)

Dotars about the VIA and the information needed

Customs and Quarantine about if I need a Passport and where to lodge a declaration

Cargoonline who seem to have a competitive rate and will offer RORO i think and have I forwarded the details on the car so they can get a more accurate quote

I will email Taurus Logistics who look like a really reputable company and their offer of $3000AU was for a medium sized car so could work out lower (they also deal with everything for you)

I think thats all for now, next week is when it will all start the happen I hope, and ill try to take my time too.

Also while im at it, does anyone know what a g60 motor is like. I've read up on them and understand the concept, will it be easy for cops to hear or notice it and pull me over, and lose my lisence and car.

Also, what do they go like, probably alot better then the restricted Aussie batch

My understanding is you need the passport docs. I had to, but it's just a copy of it ... Nothing major.
What ever time it is now, add 1 hour and reverse the day, ie: 0600 is 1900, 1200 (midday) is 0100. 7am is 8pm, probably the best time to call and if you have skype, call a landline. 0.0227c a minute!!!

You can just look at google for the time in the UK.

I'm pretty sure you only need the passport info if you're importing the car as a personal import where you needed to own the car for 12 months before shipping it, to prove that you were in the same country as the car.

I had a G60 Corrado for 6 years mate, they're awesome, fairly tweakable, the cheapest mod is the chip and pulley one (smaller 68mm supercharger pulley and ECU chip), only $400-$500, it will take it from 160bhp to 190bhp, same as a 2.9l VR6 without the weight! A FMIC/Injectors/Exhaust will take it over 200bhp easily. You just have to make sure the charger is kept in good condition/serviced, and if you're running a chip and pulley i'd put an oil cooler in it too. Have a look at www.g-werks.com and www.bahnbrenner.com for more info and parts etc.

EDIT I just realised its already running a chip and pulley! Good stuff, that RSR outlet is good too, its the first hose coming out of the charger, normally theres a baffle box there to quieten the charger, but they always leak boost.

If i were you i'd definately ask him when the charger was last re-built and by who. Not too much of a drama if it hasn't been serviced for a while, but you need to find out so you can get it sorted if it needs it.

    ^^ g-werks.

If it's going to be in West Sussex for a little while it'll probably be worth getting Darren to have a quick look at it before you ship it over.

If it needs anything I'd imagine parts'll be way cheaper here than over there.

Mine was imported as a general import as I only owned it for 6 months.
