    Get that one Dan.
I'd love to get this one but it is the one is Manchester and he hasn't replied yet, so getting down to east sussex would be stretching it.

I'd buy it no questions asked if i knew i could get it here for certain.

Don't want to be a killjoy but unless you are a member of Edition 38 he probably won't reply. When i was selling my car in the UK i got loads of scammers sending me messages asking if i would export the car, you end up just ignoring them after a while.

Good luck though would be spectacular to have this car in the country.

Keep searching I found my red 16v 2-door the first night of looking. Bit of a fluke but you never know. I hit refresh on carsales and it poped up!! Be carefull of buying UK cars as many loads of s**t tarted up for sale. Shippers are no fun either, my V8quattro was damaged and they would not accept liability.

    Cheers,
    83 Audi ur quattro

believe me i wont be picking just any old one, yes i have noticed many are butchered with ridiculous wheels, exhausts, paint colours, dumb grills and lights. It seems it should be a crime.

By the way, how does your mk2 go? Do you have any pics

    Well we're getting somewhere:

i emailed "jizzle" aboutt the minter 16v oak green golf and this is what i got in reply:

hi mate if you are interested give me a call and i will be glad to have a chat about the car cheers phil.

so early on, it seems i've got the slightest possibility of getting this immaculate car, so I've given more details on my circumstances and about the forum and why im contacting from another country, thinking I'd get no reply and i've received this:

hi dan im wiling to sort out this sale for you to be truthfull i have had my fingers burnt before i will take the car to your friends family but you would have to have cash ready with them. dont mean to be blunt but as you can appriciate that is the only way i can go about the sale.just tryin to make thinggs as simple as poss. cheers phil.

So if i can wire the money, organise shipping, i should me on my way to a schmick mk2 golf 16v, i hope. just need to get quotes on shipping, any one got suggestions.

Can you hook me up Loon.

Also if I reduce the price on the "papers" will i get a lower wack of tax when it hits our shores.

Well done Dan, you are talking about the Oak Green with the G60 in it aren't you?

    Shipping wise there are a few different ways;

RORO, Roll on Roll off ferry service, the car would be driven on to a ship with lots of other cars, like a muti storey car park on a boat basically, this is usually the cheapest way, costs around 900 pounds.

Shared Container, where your car is put in a container, a wooden frame is built around it, and other stuff loaded in there.

Sole use container, your car is put in its own 20ft container, takes only 4 weeks to get here, mine cost 1500 pounds with www.karmanshipping.com in 2005, have a look at the website, its full of useful info on shipping cars.

Getting your own container is another option, the car can be driven on to it by yourself/someone then picked up and shipped here.

I reckon RoRo will be the go for you, you've just got to hope it doesn't get scratched or damaged, i was too paranoid when i got mine shipped so i went with the Sole use option.

You're right about getting a receipt as valueation, any evidence you supply will help you out, they'll probably look at market value of a Mk2 in Aus for valueation which could work in your favour.

    Hope some of that helps.

Good luck and keep us posted!!

    Matt
