I will have a look on mine this morning mate, mine is supposedly a SA import but its get a German VIN plate so I'm not certain. It's a 1986 model so it's pretty early.
When I filled in petrol last week, I felt something different, I pull the gun out and noticed I don't have that one way flap at top of fuel filler neck. I've owned this car for 3 years now, I've never noticed if it has that or not. If it has, how possible it get lost
My Mk2 is 1986 South Africa car, this post in UK forum shows early Mk2 does not have that one way flap. Can someone check their Mk2, especially early model.
One-way flap in filler neck on early Mk2's?
pic shows what I mean.

Thanks guys, I think I had that as well, that's why I felt the petrol gun wobble while I filled but it wasn't before. I just don't understand why it's lost, did I push it into the fuel tank ?
