Idle Stabilisation Valve - Vacuum Hose Replacment

I have a rough idle where the motor revs the car kinda high to compensate.

After searching and asking around the ISV seems to be the problem.

But it was pointed out to me that the vacuum hose from the ISV to the Manifold can wear out and collapse under the vacuum pressure.

My rubber hose has done exactly this. It is closed up in the middle.

It's not the main hose it self but the corner piece at the ISV end.

Has anyone found a replacement part or got one from Clark rubber etc?

The hard part is that the hose pipe has different diameter ends.

My other idea was to put some re-enforcing inside the hose to keep it open, e.g. pvc, the pipe doesn't actually have a crack in it

    Cheers

Golf Loon may be able to get you one or call Toolies imports I've gotten stuff from them before, they do all euro stuff and are good to deal with and are located in Sydney.

    I finally found one!

Got it from ASV Euro Parts in Melbourne.

Hopefully it's still gonna hold up.

While you are at it give your ISV a clean. Let it soak in a tub of brake cleaner for 24hrs and then rise it out and let it dry.

Even better to clean it with is the engine reconditioner that they use for subarus. Its in a silver can with green writing and its awesome. I get it from Bursons.

I got it in some pterol atm because it is all I had.

The new hose seems ok, it's not compressed during idle so it might be the valve now.

One thing though. We replaced the radiator and it all seems to be working. Except the water light comes on even though the temp gauge works and the car is running cool.

It did this before I got it but we just figured it was because the radiator tank had a crack in it.

Do I have a dud water sensor or the system needs more water in it? We put about 5 litres or coolant/water in it.

    Cheers

You shouldnt use petrol as it will corod the ruber bits inside the ISV ive been told. I wouldnt do it again. Make sure your let it dry fully. I didnt let mine dry and it didnt work properly.

Check your coolant level on the reservoirs then check/replace your coolant level sensor (i think but im not 100% sure, it is located on the reservoir).

The light comes on prity early in my car, before any temp changes can be seen.

Petrol wont work, will probably damage it.

THe light could be the sensor on the bottle. Try bridging the sensor wires and see if the light goes out. If so you need a new bottle with sensor in.
