I had the same hose go on me on the 23rd of december, the next day was meant to be driving a fair way to see family for christmas. So I was freaking out. I found a hose that fit from Auto One, and fitted myself. Just get some hot water to make the rubber a bit softer. Good luck.

Tam, sorry dude only found 2 16V ones in the shed. I know I have had one cos you use them when you fit a proper oil cooler and delete the Volkswagen one.

I reckon the part number is 026 121 053 G if you engine code is EZ, RF, RH, PN or ABN.

If your engine is different PM me again with your code and email address and I'll send you a screen shot of ETKA with the right numbers on.

    Hey Tam,

Hope you sorted things out with the hose dude.

I been having a rough run with my GTi too, with a dodgy clutch and loose front left strut.
    I hear your pain mate!

Hang in there, wanna see your red lil golf on a drive sometime soon.

I've just had a bunch of things all go wrong with mine all at once as well. One of the CV's had been knocking for ages, then the catalytic converter broke a couple of weeks ago, then a couple of days later the front engine mount bracket broke and every time I changed gears the motor was smashing down on the starter motor! Thankfully my tax return saved the day and I've had it all fixed. Runs & drives like a dream again. I was about ready to set fire to it for a while there.

Don't be at ease... the worries are never over. When changing the split hose over I discovered a fuel leak aswell (easy fix). I'm beginning to think if i brake hard the whole car may disintegrate....

In all honesty it has run like a dream in the last week, my only remaining worry is why my fuel consumption is so high when 90% of my driving is on the motorway. I'm averaging 8.1 l/100. years ago it'd often slip down to the 6's. Any ideas where i'm going wrong? There are no vacuum leaks that i know of....

5.8? sheesh thats low!! tameth, how old is your oxygen sensor? if its old its probably telling the ecu to send more fuel than it needs to. that reminds me, i gota change mine..
