Sounds like you have a project on your hands!

Did it come with a Burberry hat too?

As in, why are there later, big window doors on it? Was it in an accident? (From the bog you are mentioning, quite possibly.) I'd be checking if the chassis/floor pan is still in the manner it should be ie: un kinked or dented etc.

Just sent a shivver down my spine. Round my way it was over size shirts, Ebisu Jeans & Reebok Classics, I miss Essex

Anyway, sounds like you've got a GTI, but by the sounds of the spec even if it's not it has all the good GTI bits on it. Still pics would be good...

Trip computer pretty much gives it away - you might bother to swap gti go-fast bits onto a non-gti car, but why on earth would you bother with the MFA..... GTI for sure.

She doesn't look to bad mate, MK2's always have a quality in them that screams "potential".
Replace a few trimming's, paint the rear bumper, give the rest of the car some love and hey you've got a pretty 2 door Golf

EDIT: Whats the go with no idicator on the RHS?

missing on both sides actually :/ pain job is rooted, bonnet is peeling clear like theres no tomorrow, rust bubbling up around the place which needs to be taken car of, the whole thing has just been half assed really which is a shame, fair bit of work in store but thats why i bought it should be worthy of a parking bay at worthersee or ed38 when im done with it! that said, i love the thing now, it runs like crap, fouls plugs and has a flat spot in the rev range but its so fun to drive, puts a smile on my face everytime haha!
